  • Choosing the right repair shop for your car comes down to a matter of trust.
  • You and your insurance company each have respective rights and obligations. Review your policy and understand them.
  • The law does not require you to get more than one repair estimate.
  • As owner of your vehicle, only you can authorize repairs on it.
  • You are not required to go with repair facilities selected by your insurance company.
  • You are required to allow your insurance carrier adequate time to inspect damages before having them fixed.
  • Repair estimates vary. Lower estimates may not include vital tasks like headlamp adjustment, alignment etc. Lower estimates can also be due to a facility's intention to use lower-quality and more cost-effective parts (substandard models based on the original manufacturer's designs).
  • Sign releases only when repairs have been perfomed to your satisfaction.
